Visit Down East NC
A great place to live, to visit, to enjoy!
DOWN EAST - Down East is located on the eastern portion of Carteret County and begins at the North River Bridge. Crossing this bridge takes you into an area that consists of thirteen small communities, each unique in its own character and way of life.   Throughout history, this area has been home to farmers, commercial fishermen, and business owners that depended upon each other, the land and the sound that provided a way of life to defined each family.

History also tells us about the many changes that have taken place and are continuing to take place today.  Commercial fishermen are striving to maintain their way of life; local businesses are providing services to locals as well as visitors; and there are more opportunities than ever for us all to truly enjoy what makes Down East the distinctive place that it is today!

We hope to define Down East by providing information about where to STAY, where to SHOP, where to EAT, and what to DO.

Above all ~ we hope you enjoy Down East by visiting our sites, patronizing our businesses, and enjoying the uniqueness of our communities and beautiful waters!
