Wild Caught is a festival celebrating homegrown music and local seafood! It's located in Gloucester, NC on the beautiful Straits looking toward Brown's Island and Harkers Island.
When the halls have been decked by the first weekend in December, the time is ripe to hold the Waterfowl Weekend at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum. That's right on the main road and there are signs - you can't miss it.
Harkers Island comes to life the first full weekend in December each year as the Core Sound Decoy Guild holds its annual Core Sound Decoy Festival.
The festival has many attractions that include antique decoy exhibits, retriever demonstrations, competitons including duck calling, loon calling and head whittling. There’s always delicious food offered by Harkers Island Elementary School staff and
volunteers, and plenty of shopping opportunies from the many vendors who flock to the festival each year.
There are events going on Friday night and all day Saturday. Go to their website here to see all of what Core Sound Weekend is all about!
